Security operatives
in Kasese district have recovered a gun from a suspected criminal in Busalya
village, Muhindi parish in Nyakiyumbu sub-county.
The chairman
Kasese district Lt.Col. Mawa Muhindo said this
evening that with the help of the local leaders security officials recovered an
SMG number 1977Z6088 from Yokinia Muthighandi.
Muthighandi
is said to be on the run but officials managed to unearth the gun with twenty
three rounds of ammunitions that he had been keeping underground.
It is
believed the gun has been used for poaching in the Queen Elizabeth National
Park and also terrorizing communities with robbery.
Mawa said
that the operation is going on to recover more guns that should have been used
in the rampant killings in the district in the rest days.
He called
upon whoever possesses an illegal fire arm to hand it over to the police or
else the law will take its course on them.
