The Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma has said his Kingdom will not accept “nonsense” by other tribes that are trying to destabilize his people who have just started enjoying the peace they
struggled for.
The Omusinga said this in a brief meeting to the youth-esyamango syo’businga shortly after they slowed down the flag and seizing the royal drum of the Busongora Heritage Kingdom in Muhokya.
The Rwenzururu youth raided the home of the leader of Basongora at Muhokya saying they cannot hold their meeting in the Buhikira Palace when another flag is flying on their Kingdom land.
The Omusinga said the youth have showed their courage and defense to the Obusinga by acting without any directive from the royal higher authority.
The Omusinga said that the Bakonzo will not sit down and watch while other tribes are “stepping” on their cultural institution values after years of struggle.
He said that so long as the youth have lowered the Busongora flag, the Kingdom’s high authorities are ready to handle the matter with the government until a lasting solution to the crisis is reached.
He condemned the politicians for inciting violence in the region by packaging wrong information to the central government concerning the relationship between the Bakonzo, Bamba and Basongora.
Speaker one after the other, the Rwenzururu youths said they are ready to defend the glory of their Kingdom and Omusinga until the Basongora abandon their plan.
According to news update on the Daily Monitor website, the Basongora King Ivan Bwebale said he saw five men pull down his flag and took away with the drum on a pickup truck this morning.
At the time of the incident, Bwebale was not in the office but onlookers at Muhokya trading centre could not intervene as they feared to be harmed.
Mr Jimmy Kagoro Muzoora, the Spokesperson of the Busongora King said taking away the flag does not deprive the Basongora of their cultural rights.
He said such dirty moves dent the reconciliatory program in which the president was asked by Mumbere to meet a delegation of the Bakonzo,
Basongora and Bamba. END.
I have been waiting for this article since morning. But for sure, these boys and girls showed what they can do for their kingdom. How do you meet your father while the other man is also building his house in your father's house. God....., not in our kingdom. Am very sorry if this is affecting someone's status in our kingdom, but please just watch the match and dance on our beats.
